Vibrant Asian Dance & Music Events

Kala Sangam is hosting three lively Asian Dance & Music events this summer as part of Big Dance 2012. Learn about the history, forms and cultural influences of different Asian dance styles, including Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Odissi, and watch internationally renowned dancers perform to live musical accompaniment. Kala Sangam is a leading South Asian arts organisation. We aim to increase understanding and appreciation of the cultural traditions of South Asia, whilst improving awareness of racial, cultural and social issues.

We work with local and international artists to create and deliver collaborative work across the community through a programme of creative and accessible events, including performances, classes, workshops, and training courses.

We have more than ten years’ experience in working with people of all ages and abilities. While most of our activities take place in West Yorkshire, our touring programme and outreach activities extend across the UK and internationally.
