Kala Sangam is pleased to announce the first of three special music events with the fantastic Raj Academy.

Raj Academy’s mission is to teach and promote the sacred art and science of singing and playing the hymns from the Holy Scripture Siri Guru Granth Sahib, adhering to the prescribed Rágs and original instruments for elevation, holistic healing, and spiritual growth worldwide.

The Raj Academy lecture demonstrations are apart of a Kala Sangam Learning Revolution Transformation Project at  which aims to promote the understanding, practice and enjoyment of south Asian arts, heritage and culture for people of 19+ adults of all cultures, abilities and backgrounds. The project involves a wide variety of free workshops and lecture demonstrations until March 2010. The events will focus on informal learning of dance & Music, Fashion & Cinema, Food & Faith and Literature & Architecture.

A Lecture Demonstration was delivered by Raj Academy with Professor Surinder Singh in January and will also deliver a series of workshops, demonstrations and performances on the weekend of Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th March (venue and time TBC)
