Kala Sangam is delighted to once again welcome the undisputed Queen of Hindustani Music Begum Parveen Sultana on Friday 13th November at National Centre for Early Music, York at 7:30pm. Also dubbed the ‘Poetess of Music’ and ‘The Ultimate Soprano’ by international press who applaud her for both her outstanding musicality and breathtaking virtuosity. From an early age, Parveen was influenced by her father, Ikramul Majid and then trained by the renowned Acharya Chinmoy Lahiri in Calcutta. Parveenji will be accompanied by tabla maestro Partha Sarathi Mukerjee (Tabla), Chiranjib Chakraborty (Harmonium), Nina Virdee (Tanpura).
