Presenting - Her and bliss... in chapters

Dr Anita Ratnam is a dance-actor, myth-teller and cultural commentator. Through her many experiences on stage, film, television and print media, Ratnam has constantly used mythology as a navigational tool to question and explore the imaging of women in Asian society in performance contexts. She has been described as an” intersectionist” whose performances weaves through the many worlds of dance, theatre, feminist studies and resistance. A collaborator with many disciplines of visual, electronic and musical arts, Ratnam has challenged the role of mature women as performing artistes in a world fueled by youth and celebrity.

Anita Ratnam is a frequent speaker and teacher at several universities in India and the USA . Her interdisciplinary performances have also been seen at several museums and site specific events in both continents.
